Description
The National Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is the world’s longest-running citizen science survey in which volunteer birdwatchers throughout North America take a census of wild bird sightings. For the fourth year in a row, Greenwood will serve as a survey site. Participants will seek out the birds that winter here and findings will be reported to the Watchung Ridge Count and ultimately, to the annual report of North American bird sightings. Meet in the Cottage Parking Lot by 12:00 p.m. Basic bird identification knowledge helpful but not necessary. Dress warmly, with sturdy footwear and good gloves. Bring binoculars bird guides. Cameras welcome. Rain or shine.
