Macaroni KID’s mission is to bring the local pulse of a community to families. We do that by maintaining websites and producing hyperlocal newsletters in thousands of communities nationwide. We share local events, review businesses and attractions, and curate lists of everything from local summer camps to restaurants where kids eat free.
At the heart of our Macaroni KID communities are our hundreds of local publishers. They craft local content to share with their community’s families, and, in their roles as publishers, become a cornerstone of community connection and influence.
Our publishers create weekly, hyper-local e-newsletters and maintain websites brimming with events, activities, and must-see destinations for parents, kids, and families in their communities.
Many of our publishers also take their work to the next level by organizing local events, hosting local awards, and appearing regularly on local media to discuss community family-friendly fun ideas.
Macaroni KID was started in 2007 by two moms tired of searching for things to do every day with their kids. They started a Macaroni KID site local to their community and then went about the business of finding hundreds of more publishers across the U.S. to do the same thing.
CertifiKID—recognized as the top deal-finding platform dedicated to family fun and founded by entrepreneurial mom Jamie Ratner—acquired Macaroni KID in 2020, skyrocketing its growth and potential.
The partner companies comprise one of the leading parent-focused digital media and advertising powerhouses in the U.S. Macaroni KID and CertifiKID reach more than 3 million families each year.
Our company’s story took a leap forward in 2019 when CertifiKID’s owners, Jamie and Brian Ratner, were featured on Shark Tank, securing an investment from none other than “Mr. Wonderful,” Kevin O’Leary. This milestone supercharged our mission to help parents provide incredible experiences for their kids without stretching the family budget. From great deals on family outings and summer camps to live theater and amusement parks, CertifiKID is a family’s gateway to affordable family fun.
