Are you a pumpkin enthusiast with a flair for cooking and baking? Our Summthin’ Pumpkin cooking contest is for you, with the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your culinary skills and creativity! This event celebrates the versatility and deliciousness of this iconic fall ingredient, and contestants of all backgrounds and skill levels are welcome to participate. The rules of the contest are simple: create a dish that prominently features pumpkin as the star ingredient. From classic pumpkin pies and spiced breads to savory pumpkin stews and curries, the possibilities are endless. Judges will evaluate the dishes based on taste, presentation, creativity, and originality! After the dishes are judged, the public will be able to sample them! All dishes must be turned in by 10:45am, judging starts at 11am.

Fall Family Photo Day will also be held this day from 10am-1pm. SDI encourages people to dress in their costumes or use the props available at the photo booth. Everyone gets printed photo strips to take home and it’s free for everyone!

DJ Mr. Socks will also be in attendance as MC and spinning tunes for the day!

The Summit Farmers Market is widely regarded as one of the best farmers markets in the state. The 2024 season will start on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The Summit Farmers Market runs from April 28-November 24 from 8 am-1 pm, then Sundays, December 8, 15 & 22 from 8 am-12 pm.

The Summit Farmers Market supports farmers and other purveyors exclusively in New Jersey, now in its 31st season!

The market is located at Park & Shop Lot #1 corner of DeForest Avenue and Woodland Avenue. Customers will enter and exit at the vehicle entrance on DeForest Avenue to Park & Shop Lot #1.
