SOMA Entrepreneurs of Color is hosting its first ‘So So SOMA’ Pop Up Shop at Platinum Art Studios on Valley St. in Maplewood on Saturday, October 5th from 2pm-6pm, featuring local makers, vendors, restaurants and professionals of color in SOMA. The "So So SOMA" concept is a play on the groundbreaking So So Def Recordings record label, founded in the 90s that launched the careers of Black artists such as Usher, Xscape, TLC, Jagged Edge, and Bow Wow to name a few. This event will highlight the outstanding contributions of local business owners of color to our vibrant and diverse business scene in SOMA.
Come join us to mingle, shop, eat, and enjoy local musicians and performers during our family friendly welcome event to the community. Tickets are $20 if purchased online by the 1st of October. Tickets purchased at the door will be $25. Children under 5 are free, student tickets are only $5 with the purchase of an adult ticket.
We will be collecting water and donations to help in the aid of providing clean water to the residents of Newark.
