Description
There are a wide variety of animals who are just waking up when you are going to bed. Meet a live animal who is most comfortable after dark and listen to a story about our special nocturnal animal friends. Learn about the specialized adaptations that make night time the right time for moths, bats, owls, and other nocturnal creatures.
The Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, located in Short Hills, New Jersey, is a historic woodlands, garden, and educational institution. Our mission is to connect people and nature and we do that in a variety of ways: through classes, camps, field trips and outreach; guided hikes and special events; and volunteer training programs. We have 16 acres of protected woodland that we maintain as a citizen science laboratory and sanctuary for native species of trees, wildflowers, birds, and other wildlife. Our beautiful Stone House contains a collection of education ambassador animals, and our small but dedicated staff is available 7 days a week to answer questions and point out natural wonders. For children grades K-5.
