Local CSAs in Union County, NJ
Support local farmers and enjoy a regular supply of fresh, seasonal produce by joining a local CSA. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Here is an option to consider:
Dreyer Farms
831 Springfield Ave, Cranford NJ
Details: This local family owned farm and garden center has been around since 1904! It supports Battenkill Valley Creamery, Finding Home Farms, Griggstown Farms, and many others local NJ & NY businesses. While not organic, it follows sustainable practices including Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and traditional techniques to control weeds. Their CSA program lasts 27 weeks from May to the week before Thanksgiving. Each week, subscribers receive fresh produce grown onsite or from other local farms. They also include recipes and ideas for the specific box contents. Their Market Share box includes meat, dairy, grains, and fresh produce so patrons can prepare a full meal. Meanwhile, the BAM box includes surprise goodies such as cheese, dough, and bone broth. Pickups are twice a week at the farm’s store.
