Confession? I'm not a huge lover of travel, especially with kids. I am very much into our "routine" and really don't like straying from it! I'm always looking for fun ways to mix up our day-to-day, though, so we love to take spontaneous little day trips. One of our most recent ones was to Verona Park (in Verona) to check out their recently-renovated playground. (PS If you follow me on Instagram you already know all this! If you don't, you should! Check out my stories and my story highlights next time you're without something to do and want some recommendations with tips!)

And all I have to say is... WOW! It did not disappoint. The (very impressive) playground is situated in Verona Park which is a beautiful place in and of itself. It has a well-paved loop that goes around a pond, perfect for strollers and anything on wheels! Right outside the playground is a Children's Garden, with a nice little path and I'm sure the blooms are gorgeous in the spring and summer!

On the playground itself, there's one massive playground structure with slides that are TWO STORIES TALL, a smaller one for younger children, lots of climbing walls, huge slides and climbing apparatuses built into the landscape, roundabouts, seesaws, big swings that my entire family fit on, and more. We're playground hoppers and even we were impressed! My boys have been asking to go back every single day since we left.

To get there, I just put "Verona Park" into my Google Maps app and it took me right to the parking lot. I recommend bringing a lunch and staying for a few hours on a beautiful day. Other options in the area? Downtown Montclair (next time we'll try to stop at Montclair Bread Co. for a treat on the way home!), Blue Hippo Coffee, and that about exhausts my knowledge of the area! If you do decide to go for a day and want some more recommendations, check out our sister site Macaroni Kid Clifton-Montclair and follow her on Instagram - the publisher Jess is the area expert!
