Help restock the shelves at the Community FoodBank of NJ

Fill the shelves of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey after the holiday season

By Julie Lepore, Macaroni Kid Summit/Short Hills/SOMA Publisher January 28, 2020

Since 1975, Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) has been dedicated to delivering food, help, and hope to the state’s neighbors in need, growing from a one-woman operation to an organization with over 1,000 community partners, providing more than 50 million nutritious meals annually.

In addition to providing food to families in need, the CFBNJ also provides other necessities -- like diapers. Every day, some low-income families have to make the tough choice between diapers for their children and other necessities like food, housing, and transportation. In fact, 1 in 3 mothers in the U.S. do not have consistent access to diapers for their children.

While the holiday season typically brings a flood of donations and volunteers to CFBNJ, by January the donations severely slow though the needs of the families remain the same.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey requested that I share this information with my community to help restock the shelves for these families in need. As always, monetary donations go much further than donations of goods (just $1 provides 3 meals!) so they are asking for monetary donations to help bridge this post-holiday gap.
