In the fall it seems like every weekend there are multiple festivals and it can be hard to narrow down which ones you want to go to! I put together a comprehensive list of festivals in our area so you can plan out your fall fun.
Our VERY FAVORITE last year was Rockin' The Reservation where we built our own scarecrow! So fun for my boys and we had it out on our lawn all fall. Here are all the local fall festivals this year! Bookmark this page and keep checking back because I add more as they come up.

Sept. 14th | Art Rocks Fall Fest (Millburn)
An art open house with vendors, refreshments, demos, and optional (for a fee) art workshops. FREE!
Sept. 14th | Butterfly Bonanza (Montville)
A bug safari, live music, games, crafts and activities. FREE!
Sept. 14th | Going Batty for Bats! Fall Festival (Harding)
Celebrate the fall season at the Great Swamp with a special focus on bats. Live animals and activities. FREE!
Sept. 15th | Arts and Cars Festival (Summit)
Live entertainment, a car show, art displays, a chalk artist, a kids zone, food trucks, and (new this year!) a beer and wine garden! FREE!
Sept. 15th | 4th Annual Hispanic Heritage Fiesta (Union)
Live entertainment, dancers, vendors, food, and arts and crafts. FREE!
Sept. 15th | South Orange PlayDay (South Orange)
South Orange Village's largest public event, featuring more than 10 Play Areas, vendors, rides, bounce houses, and more. Come visit Macaroni Kid at the SOPAC table for special giveaways from The Busy Bee, Village Play Cafe, Miss Juli's Boutique, SwimQuest Millburn, Poppikit, and Genius Gems! FREE to enter; some activities require an additional fee.

A classic carnival in Cranford - rides, ice cream, games, a 50/50, and a beer garden! Thursday and Sunday nights are Bracelet Nights.
Sept. 28th | Rocktoberfest (Millburn)
An Oktoberfest-inspired fundraiser with bands, food, arts and STEM expo, games and rides, and a Biergarten. FREE!

Sept. 28th | Essex County Environmental Center Fall Family Festival (Roseland)
Fun-filled activities for the whole family centered around the autumn equinox. Petting zoo, food, canoeing, a pumpkin patch, and more. FREE!
Sept. 28th | Friends and Family Fall Festival at Seaton Hackney Stables (Morristown)
A fall day at the stables! Hayrides, pony and horse rides, wagon rides, games, face painting, and more! FREE!
Sept. 29th | Rockin' the Reservation (Mountainside)
This is the one my family won't be missing! Live music, kids' activities, pony rides, petting zoo, and (my family's personal favorite) scarecrow building! $5/person; FREE for under 7.
Sept. 29th | Morristown Festival on the Green (Morristown)
All-day entertainment, food, and vendors. An annual event in Morristown since 1994! FREE!
