Next weekend our friends at the Paper Mill Playhouse offer two ways to enjoy some family fun time with two separate musicals based on popular children's books! First, on Saturday, April 14 at 10:00AM, Junie B. Jones, a delightful musical based on the books by Barbara Parks, dances onto the Paper Mill stage. Then, on Sunday, April 15 at 10:00AM, Nugget & Fang, a new musical based on the endearing picture book by Tammi Sauer about friendship and overcoming stereotypes, arrives on the stage with tons of fun and humor. Both shows are part of Paper Mills' Children's Programs and are only $12 a ticket.
If you have ever read a Junie B. Jones book, you know that Junie is outspoken and precocious, but undenialbly lovable. In this musical version produced by TheatreworksUSA, Junie B. Jones is finally ready for first grade, at last! But getting used to the whole new group of friends, a new teacher, and new glasses is challenging, even for irrepressible Junie B. Follow her adventures as she writes everything down in her “top-secret personal beeswax” journal live on stage, Saturday, April 14 at 10:00AM.
NUGGET & FANG
Nugget, a minnow, and Fang, a shark, get along swimmingly — until Nugget’s first day of minnow school. There, Nugget learns that minnows are supposed to be afraid of sharks! To regain Nugget’s trust, Fang takes desperate and hilarious measures. Nothing goes as planned. Fang is moping in deep waters when he notices that Nugget and his minnow schoolmates are caught up in some big trouble (and one very big net). Holy mackerel! Can Fang save the day and prove he’s a true friend? Find out in this amusing musical from ArtsPower at Paper Mill Playhouse on Sunday, April 15 at 10AM.
