Zoomer Show Pony! A Macaroni Kid Video Review.

When I was first asked to review Zoomer Show Pony* for Macaroni Kid I was quite curious. I was familiar with the popular robot puppy, Zoomer that was on top of many Santa’s Wish Lists’ a few years ago (and also flew off the toy store shelves). Yet I couldn’t quite picture an 11 inch tall robotic pony and wondered if it would be friendly or too mechanical-feeling. Well the moment our Zoomer Show Pony arrived and my daughter and I lifted it out of it’s colorful box/carrying kit we knew we had a new friendly, warm companion in our household. ​

Zoomer Show Pony’s pastel pink coloring and soft mane and tail make it inviting to little kids and that’s even before you turn it on! Once Zoomer was on and running we were instantly taken with it’s sweet sounds and the fun interactive things we could do with her. If you pet her she moves her head, if you pet her nose she moves her head from side to side and nudges forward, if you pet both cheeks she neighs, “I love you!” She comes with four interactive accessories, including an apple, a carrot, a brush for her hair and a sugar cube. Our favorite was the sugar cube; if you feed her the sugar cube 3 times in a row she dances, but if you feed her the sugar 6 times in row she’ll dance in a super hyper way (just like some of the kids we know). Just like some kids she’ll calm down when you pet both her cheeks (it’s sweet, no pun intended).

A word about the eyes: Zoomer’s eyes explain how she is feeling and the toy comes with an “Eye Dictionary;” a pictorial easy to understand key showing what the 14 different expressive light-up eyes mean. For instance, low lit ovals mean she is sleepy (I think getting kids to look and understand Zoomer’s eyes is a great way to introduce them to symbols, keys and maps!).

Another interactive and sweet feature on Zoomer is her heart button. Kids can press it at any time to get Zoomer to stop moving, but press it again and she performs tricks and dances. The more you play with Zoomer the more tricks are unlocked. She performs 5 different dances, does a figure 8 and even sings!
 
For the little warm sweet kids in your life Zoomer Show Pony is a very amiable, enjoyable (dare I say huggable) interactive toy that they might even fall in love with as Zoomer neighs “I love you” back!
