We also knew immediately that the Golda Och Academy community was one we wanted to be part of. Families at GOA come from many different Jewish backgrounds, but are all committed to an inclusive, modern Jewish education.
3. Educational philosophy
I’ve spent my career working in education policy and administration, and the first time I met Lower School Principal Carrie Siegel, I knew I wanted my kids in her school. The way she talks about education, child development, and what excellent teaching looks like is the very height of what any parent would want in a school administration and faculty.
4. Amazing facilities
Golda Och Academy is so much more than a building, but the building also matters! The science lab is my son’s favorite part of the school (and his favorite class!), and the kids love the outdoor garden.
5. Affordable
When we thought about staying in Brooklyn, one of our biggest issues was where to send our kids to school. I loved that not only did GOA offer lower tuition than New York City day schools, but the transparency of the financial aid system means that any family can determine the kind of help they can expect.
