"A giant dinosaur puppet musical that teaches you about evolution" - that description of the show Mammoth Follies should at least tickle your curiosity. If not, I should also tell you that the show dramatizes historic and scientific facts (as well as some myths) about the great age of the dinosaur with music, dance and intricate puppets. Mammoth Follies was performed all over the country between 1984 - 1998 (including at the BAM Opera House), and that now the crew is back in a renovated production that is nearly selling out every show.
You can see these enormous puppets populate the SOPAC stage on January 28th at 2PM. The delightful puppets including your host Willie Mammoth, Smiley the Saber-Toothed Tiger, Bessie the lovable 27-foot long Apatosaurus, Tony and Trixie Triceratops, Terry the Pterodactyl, and the 11-foot tall T. Rex will take you on a musical trip through pre-history. Each song and dance may even teach you and your kids interesting facts about the dinosaur age.
