If you have young kids, you might be familiar with the beloved character Skippyjon Jones, and the books by Judy Schachner. Skippjon Jones is a rambunctious Siamese Cat with incredibly long ears. This defining characteristic leads Skippyjon to frequently take on the alter image of a Mexican Chihuahua named Skippito Friskito, where he embarks on grand adventures, fighting banditos, witches, and other bad guys and gals. The thing I like most about Skippyjon is he's always defying expectations and labels in a grand way, while still doing the right thing to help others!
And now - thanks to our friends at the Paper Mill Playhouse - you can see Skippyjon in a brand new adventure. In Theatreworks USA's musical Skippjon Jones, Snow What, Skippyjon Jones finds himself in the role of the Prince in a new take on Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Skippito's new friends, the Seven Chimichangos need help to rescue the Princess Nieve Que (Snow What), but what does the Princess Nieve Que do when instead of Prince Charming she gets a Chihuahua whose really a Siamese Cat?
