THAT PHYSICS SHOW! Off-Broadway Review

CONGRATULATIONS TO...

By Elizabeth Moglia Jackson August 19, 2016
CONGRATULATIONS TO...NANCY T. OF SOUTH ORANGE! She won 4 tickets to THAT PHYSICS SHOW! Please read more about the show below:

My son said two things to us after seeing THAT PHYSICS SHOW: "That was awesome!", and "I think I want to be a physicist!" He certainly made my job easy as I could not have asked for better quotes and for more of an endorsement! Both my kids ran into the lobby after the performance to be the first in line to get a picture with the star and master physicist, David Maiullo.  They were not alone - as we turned around it seemed that the whole audience was in line for photos and autographs.  This enthusiasm wasn’t for a show with singing Genies  and magic carpets, or with pop songs -  the excitement was for a show about PHYSICS, with the simple and strangely memorable title: “THAT PHYSICS SHOW.”

THAT PHYSICS SHOW does a great job of explaining the science of physics, while also showing physics to be both fun and tangible!  David Maiullo is actually a physics professor at Rutgers University by trade, and throughout the show he demonstrates how physics is in almost everything we do in our daily lives, from the way we tug off a piece of toilet paper to how we see and hear the world around us.

The science may sound ordinary, but Mr. Maiullo truly shows us some physics "magic", all the while making the subject  less intimidating to kids and adults alike - the science "trick" underneath the magician's "hat"! He lies on a bed of nails while 2 audience members walk on top of him; propels a ping pong ball through a vacuum tube so fast your eye does not notice (and with astonishing force!); causes a balloon to ignite into flames; shows the astonishing effects of liquid nitrogen on everyday objects - and much more!

My husband and I specifically appreciated how Mr. Maiullo never talks down to the audience, speaking to everyone on their own level.  And now one lucky Macaroni Kid Summit Short Hills SOMA subscriber can win 4 tickets to see THAT PHYSICS SHOW on your day of choice before September 4th.  Plus: Macaroni Kid subscribers can save on tickets by using the discount code: LSP2529
